They didn’t agree among themselves, and they began to leave when Paul made one particular statement: “The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet of our ancestors,
“Brothers and fathers,” he replied, “Y’all must listen to me: The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran,
searching for what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was pointing to when ʜᴇ predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.
For no prophecy ever came by human will, but humans spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.
