Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.


Judas, who would betray him, answered, “Surely not me, Rabbi?” Jesus answered him, “You said it.”


While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, arrived with a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and elders of the people.


When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he felt remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,


Then Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, who intended to betray him, said,


During supper, the devil had already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him.


Then Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it.” Then he dipped the piece of bread and gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.


So after receiving the piece of bread, Judas left immediately. And it was night.


Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with his disciples.


“Siblings, it was necessary for the Scripture to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide for those who arrested Jesus.


(Using the wages he earned for his wickedness, Judas bought a field where he fell headlong, his body burst open, and all his intestines gushed out.
