Should yoʋ not also have had mercy on yoʋr fellow servant, even as I had mercy on yoʋ?’
In the same way, a Levite, when he came to that place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
He went over to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
When the Lord saw her, he was moved with compassion for her and said to her, “Do not weep.”
So the Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that yoʋ, being a Jew, ask for water to drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
The Jews answered him, “Do we not rightly say that yoʋ are a Samaritan and have a demon?”
