And forgive thy people, that have sinned against thee, and all their iniquities, by which they have transgressed against thee. And give them mercy before them that have made them captives, that they may have compassion on them.


She opened it and seeing within it an infant crying, having compassion on it she said: This is one of the babes of the Hebrews.


Thy own friend, and thy father's friend forsake not: and go not into thy brother's house in the day of thy affliction. Better is a neighbour that is near, than a brother afar off.

Whom when the Lord had seen, being moved with mercy towards her, he said to her: Weep not.


Then that Samaritan woman saith to him: How dost thou, being a Jew, ask of me to drink, who am a Samaritan woman? For the Jews do not communicate with the Samaritans.


The Jews therefore answered, and said to him: Do not we say well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
