and said to them, “You are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brethren, so that you may bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel, to the place that I have prepared for it.


with which Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet.


Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil,


Go forth from Babylon, flee from Chaldea, declare this with a shout of joy, proclaim it, send it forth to the end of the earth; say, “The Lord has redeemed his servant Jacob!”


And they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the Lord, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the Israelites bring their cereal offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord.


“Set up waymarks for yourself, make yourself guideposts; consider well the highway, the road by which you went. Return, O virgin Israel, return to these your cities.


“Flee from the midst of Babylon, and go out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as he-goats before the flock.


“Go out of the midst of her, my people! Let every man save his life from the fierce anger of the Lord!


“Flee from the midst of Babylon, let every man save his life! Be not cut off in her punishment, for this is the time of the Lord's vengeance, the requital he is rendering her.


They shall teach my people the difference between the holy and the common, and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean.


Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord has said, ‘I will show myself holy among those who are near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.’ ” And Aaron held his peace.


For I am the Lord who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; you shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.”

Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain with a sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.


“Take the Levites from among the people of Israel, and cleanse them.


But Peter said, “No, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”


and he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit any one of another nation; but God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.


I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but it is unclean for any one who thinks it unclean.


Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you,


Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.


Beloved, I beseech you as aliens and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh that wage war against your soul.


and like living stones be yourselves built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
