But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have sworn to the Lord God Most High, maker of heaven and earth,
And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The Lord, he is God; the Lord, he is God.”
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!
Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, “I have observed you and what has been done to you in Egypt;

Or has any god ever attempted to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, and by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
And because he loved your fathers and chose their descendants after them, and brought you out of Egypt with his own presence, by his great power,
“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, out of all the peoples that are on the face of the earth.
It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the Lord set his love upon you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples;
And the angel whom I saw standing on sea and land lifted up his right hand to heaven
and swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, that there should be no more delay,
