‘Zebulun will live by the seashore and become a haven for ships; his border will extend towards Sidon.
They went to Gilead and the region of Tahtim Hodshi, and on to Dan Jaan and around towards Sidon.
Be ashamed, Sidon, and you fortress of the sea, for the sea has spoken: ‘I have neither been in labour nor given birth; I have neither reared sons nor brought up daughters.’
and on Hamath too, which borders on it, and on Tyre and Sidon, though they are very skilful.
and when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy.
But be assured today that the Lord your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like a devouring fire. He will destroy them; he will subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and annihilate them quickly, as the Lord has promised you.
So Joshua and the Israelites defeated them completely, but a few survivors managed to reach their fortified cities.

So Joshua and his whole army came against them suddenly at the Waters of Merom and attacked them,
‘As for all the inhabitants of the mountain regions from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, that is, all the Sidonians, I myself will drive them out before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have instructed you,
The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hands.
