Hear you the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Yehudah, and to the inhabitants of Yerushalayim;
But it happened, when Nevukhadnetzar 1 king of Bavel came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Yerushalayim for fear of the army of the Kasdim, and for fear of the army of the Syrians; so we dwell at Yerushalayim.
Declare you this in the house of Ya`akov, and publish it in Yehudah, saying,
Flee for safety, you children of Binyamin, out of the midst of Yerushalayim, and blow the shofar in Tekoa, and raise up a signal on Beit-Hakkerem; for evil looks forth from the north, and a great destruction.
Why do we sit still? Assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the fortified cities, and let us be silent there; for the LORD our God has put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.
Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and [who is] he to whom the mouth of the LORD has spoken, that he may declare it? why is the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that none passes through?

*Put the shofar to your lips! Something like an eagle is over the LORD's house, because they have broken my covenant, and rebelled against my law.

Does the shofar alarm sound in a city, without the people being afraid? Does evil happen to a city, and the LORD hasn't done it?
The lion has roared. Who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken. Who can but prophesy?
Make you two trumpets of silver; of beaten work shall you make them: and you shall use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps.
When they shall blow them, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the door of the tent of meeting.
It happened, when Yehoshua and the children of Yisra'el had made an end of killing them with a very great slaughter, until they were consumed, and the remnant which remained of them had entered into the fortified cities,
