My life is almost finished.\par So leave me alone!\par Let me enjoy the little time I have left,\par


God’s majesty (importance) scares you.\par You are afraid of him.\par


“God, just give me two things,\par and then I won’t hide from you:\par


Job, don’t be afraid of me.\par I won’t be hard on you.\par


I wish there were someone to take God’s\par punishing stick away.\par Then God would not scare me any more.\par


Lord, I am afraid of you.\par I fear and respect your laws.\par


But God, stop punishing me.\par You will destroy me if you don’t stop!\par


But I stopped myself. The other nations saw me bring Israel out of Egypt. I did not want to ruin my good name, so I did not destroy Israel in front of those other people.
