Young men become tired and need to rest.\par Even young boys stumble and fall.\par
But people that trust the Lord\par become strong again\par like eagles that grow new feathers.\par These people run without becoming weak.\par These people walk without becoming tired.\par
‘Baruch, you have said: It is very bad for me. The Lord has given me sorrow along with my pain. I am very tired. I am worn out because of my suffering. I can’t find rest.’
Then Jesus taught the followers that they should always pray and never lose hope. Jesus used this story to teach them:
Is Apollos important? No! Is Paul important? No! We are only servants of God who helped you believe. Each one of us did the work God gave us to do.
Now I write about people who are not married. {\cf2\super [43]} I have no command from the Lord about this. But I give my opinion. And I can be trusted, because the Lord has given me mercy.
God made us able to be servants of a new agreement \{from God to his people\}. This new agreement is not a written law. It is of the Spirit. {\cf2\super [9]} The written law brings death, but the Spirit gives life.
So we think about the things we cannot see, not what we see. The things we see continue only a short time. And the things we cannot see will continue forever.
We must not become tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest \{of eternal life\} at the right time. We must not give up!
So I ask you not to become discouraged \{and lose hope\} because of the sufferings I am having for you. My sufferings bring honor to you.
In the past I spoke against Christ and persecuted him and did things to hurt him. But God gave me mercy because I did not know what I was doing. I did those things when I did not believe.
Think about Jesus. He was patient while sinful men were doing bad things against him. Think about him, so that you also will be patient and not stop trying.
At one time you were not God’s people. But now you are God’s people. In the past you had never received mercy. But now you have received mercy \{from God\}.
You continue to try without quitting. You endured \{troubles\} for my name. And you have not become tired of doing this.
