“But, God, will you really live here with us on the earth? All the sky and the highest place in heaven cannot contain you. Certainly this house which I have built cannot contain you either.


“Lord, you made this promise to me and my family. Now, keep your promise forever. Do what you said you would!


Now, Lord God, keep your promise to my father David. You have chosen me to be king of a very large nation. There are so many people—they are like the dust of the earth!


Do what you promised for your servant,\par so that people will respect you.\par


Lord, remember your promise to me.\par That promise gives me hope.\par


Bless the Lord, God of Israel!\par He always was,\par and he always will be.\par


On the mountain, these men saw the God of Israel. God was standing on something that looked like blue sapphires, as clear as the sky!


“The poor and needy people look for water,\par but they can’t find any.\par They are thirsty.\par Their tongues are very dry.\par I will answer their prayers.\par I will not leave them and let them die.\par


I will give you the wealth\par that is saved in darkness.\par I will give you those hidden riches.\par I will do this so that you will know\par that I am the Lord.\par I am the God of Israel,\par and I am calling you by name!\par


“I did this to keep the promise that I had made to your ancestors. {\cf2\super [89]} I promised to give them a very fertile land—a land flowing with milk and honey. And you are living in that country today.”
