1 Corinthians 16:14
22 Tagairtí Cros

This is my command: Love each other.

If you hurt your brother’s faith because of something you eat, then you are not really following the way of love. Don’t destroy a person’s faith by eating something \{that he thinks is wrong\}. Christ died for that person.

But you should truly want to have the greater gifts \{of the Spirit {\cf2\super [92]} \}.

Love is the thing you should try for. And you should truly want to have the spiritual gifts. And the gift you should want most is to be able to prophesy. {\cf2\super [95]}

You know that Stephanas and his family were the first believers in Achaia. They have given themselves to the service of God’s people. I ask you, brothers and sisters,

Now \{I will write\} about meat that is sacrificed {\cf2\super [46]} to idols. {\cf2\super [47]} We know that “we all have knowledge.” “Knowledge” puffs you up full of pride. But love makes \{you help\} others grow stronger.

But the Spirit {\cf2\super [74]} gives love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

We pray that the Lord will make your love grow. We pray that he will give you more and more love for each other and for all people. We pray that you will love all people like we love you.

But Timothy came back to us from you. He told us good news about your faith and love. Timothy told us that you always remember us in a good way. He told us that you want very much to see us again. And it is the same with us—we want very much to see you.

We thank God for you always. And we should do that because that is right for us to do. It is right because your faith is growing more and more. And the love that every one of you has for each other is also growing.

The goal of this command is for people to have love. To have this love people must have a pure heart, they must do what they know is right, and they must have true faith.

Marriage should be honored by all people. And every marriage should be kept pure between only two people. God will judge guilty those people who do sexual sins and adultery. {\cf2\super [172]}

Most important, love each other deeply. Love hides many, many sins.

and to your service for God add kindness for your brothers and sisters \{in Christ\}; and to this kindness for your brothers and sisters add love.
