Hate causes arguments. But love forgives every wrong thing people do.

A foolish person is easily upset. But a smart {\cf2\super [16]} person quickly forgives other people if they say something wrong.

If you forgive a person who does wrong to you, then you can be friends. But if you continue to remember the wrong that he did, then it will hurt your friendship.

You should let other people finish speaking before you try to answer them. That way you won’t be embarrassed and appear foolish.

I may speak in different languages of men or even angels. But if I don’t have love, then I am only a noisy bell or a ringing cymbal.

Love is patient, and love is kind. Love is not jealous, it does not boast, and it is not proud.

Do all these things; but most important, love each other. Love is the thing that holds you all together in perfect unity.

We pray that the Lord will make your love grow. We pray that he will give you more and more love for each other and for all people. We pray that you will love all people like we love you.

We thank God for you always. And we should do that because that is right for us to do. It is right because your faith is growing more and more. And the love that every one of you has for each other is also growing.

The goal of this command is for people to have love. To have this love people must have a pure heart, they must do what they know is right, and they must have true faith.

You are brothers and sisters in Christ, so continue loving each other.

My brothers and sisters, it is very important that you not use an oath when you make a promise. Don’t use the name of heaven, earth, or anything else to prove what you say. When you mean yes, say only “yes.” When you mean no, say only “no.” Do this so that you will not be judged guilty.

Remember this: Any person who brings a sinner back from the wrong way will save that sinner from death (hell). By doing this, that person will cause many sins to be forgiven.

Now you have made yourselves pure by obeying the truth. Now you can have true love for your brothers and sisters. So love each other deeply—with all your heart.
