Then Jacob made a vow:  ‘If God will be with me and watch over me during this journey I’m making, if he provides me with food to eat and clothing to wear,


Then Noah built an altar to the Lord. He took some of every kind of clean animal and every kind of clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.


Naaman responded, ‘If not, please let your servant be given as much soil as a pair of mules can carry,  for your servant will no longer offer a burnt offering or a sacrifice to any other god but the Lord.

When you make a vow to God,  don’t delay fulfilling it, because he does not delight in fools. Fulfil what you vow.

Then the men were seized by a great fear and said to him, ‘What have you done? ’ The men knew he was fleeing from the Lord’s presence  because he had told them.


So they called out to the Lord,  ‘Please, Lord, don’t let us perish because of this man’s life, and don’t charge us with innocent blood! For you, Lord, have done just as you pleased.’


It’s like a mustard seed   that, when sown upon the soil, is the smallest of all the seeds on the ground.


Then great fear came on the whole church and on all who heard these things.


The angel of the Lord said to him, ‘If I stay, I won’t eat your food. But if you want to prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the Lord.’ (Manoah did not know he was the angel of the Lord.)
