And he made a vow, saying: If God shall be with me, and shall keep me in the way by which I walk, and shall give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,


And Noe built an altar unto the Lord: and taking of all cattle and fowls that were clean, offered holocausts upon the altar.


And Naaman said: As thou wilt; but, I beseech thee, grant to me thy servant, to take from hence two mules' burden of earth. For thy servant will not henceforth offer holocaust, or victim, to other gods, but to the Lord.


Therefore men shall fear him: and all that seem to themselves to be wise shall not dare to behold him.


Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and strengthen me with a perfect spirit.


And it is much better not to vow, than after a vow not to perform the things promised.


My soul hath desired thee in the night: yea, and with my spirit within me in the morning early I will watch to thee. When thou shalt do thy judgments on the earth, the inhabitants of the world shall learn justice.


Will not you then fear me? saith the Lord. And will you not repent at my presence? I have set the sand a bound for the sea, an everlasting ordinance which it shall not pass over. And the waves thereof shall toss themselves and shall not prevail: they shall swell, and shall not pass over it.


And the men were greatly afraid, and they said to him: Why hast thou done this? (for the men knew that he fled from the face of the Lord: because he had told them.)


And they cried to the Lord, and said: We beseech thee, O Lord, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done as it pleased thee.


It is as a grain of mustard seed: which when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that are in the earth:


And there came great fear upon the whole church, and upon all that heard these things.


And the angel answered him: If thou press me, I will not eat of thy bread; but if thou wilt offer a holocaust, offer it to the Lord. And Manue knew not it was the angel of the Lord.
