So she named the Lord who spoke to her: ‘You are El-roi,’  for she said, ‘In this place, have I actually seen  the one who sees me? ’


When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he departed, and Abraham returned to his place.


Be attentive to him and listen to him. Do not defy him, because he will not forgive your acts of rebellion, for my name is in him.


and they saw  the God of Israel. Beneath his feet was something like a pavement made of lapis lazuli, as clear as the sky itself.


I was a skilled craftsman  beside him. I was his  delight every day, always rejoicing before him.


He protects his flock like a shepherd; he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them in the fold of his garment. He gently leads those that are nursing.


They cry out to their mothers, ‘Where is the grain and wine? ’ as they faint like the wounded in the streets of the city, as their life pours out in the arms of their mothers.


I speak with him   directly, openly, and not in riddles; he sees the form of the  Lord. So why were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? ’

The Word  became flesh  and dwelt  among us. We observed his glory,  the glory as the one and only  Son  from the Father, full of grace and truth.


Isaiah said these things because  he saw his glory  and spoke about him.


One of his disciples, the one Jesus loved,  was reclining close beside Jesus.


Jesus said to him, ‘Have I been among you all this time and you do not know me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the Father.   How can you say, “Show us the Father”?


I made your name   known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love you have loved me with may be in them and I may be in them.’

In their case, the god of this age  has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,  , who is the image of God.


Then the Lord spoke to you from the fire.  You kept hearing the sound of the words, but didn’t see a form; there was only a voice.


He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.


Now to the King  eternal,  immortal,  invisible, the only  God,  be honour  and glory  for ever and ever. Amen.


who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light,  whom no one has seen or can see,  to him be honour and eternal power.  Amen.


When Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand.  Joshua approached him and asked, ‘Are you for us or for our enemies? ’


No one has ever seen God.  If we love one another, God remains in  us and his love is made complete in us.


If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ and yet hates his brother or sister,  he is a liar.  For the person who does not love his brother or sister  whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.


God’s love was revealed among us  in this way: God sent  his one and only Son  into the world so that we might live  through him.


And we know that the Son of God has come  and has given us understanding so that we may know the true one.  We are in the true one #– #that is, in his Son, Jesus Christ.  He is the true God and eternal life.
