Is it not true my house is with God? For he has established a permanent covenant  with me, ordered and secured in every detail. Will he not bring about my whole salvation and my every desire?


God also said to Moses, ‘Say this to the Israelites: The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name for ever;  this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.


Young women of Jerusalem, I charge you, if you find my love, tell him that I am lovesick.


and on that day you will say, ‘Give thanks to the Lord; proclaim his name! Make his works known among the peoples. Declare that his name is exalted.


Therefore, in the east honour the  Lord! In the coasts and islands of the west honour the name of the  Lord, the God of Israel.


Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you. I will praise your name, for you have accomplished wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.


On that day it will be said, ‘Look, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he has saved us. This is the Lord; we have waited for him. Let’s rejoice and be glad in his salvation.’


Lord our God, lords other than you have owned   us, but we remember your name alone.


Therefore the Lord is waiting to show you mercy, and is rising up to show you compassion, for the Lord is a just God. All who wait patiently for him are happy.


Lord, be gracious to us! We wait for you. Be our strength every morning and our salvation in time of trouble.


Kings will be your guardians and their queens  your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the ground and lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the  Lord; those who put their hope in me will not be put to shame.


Pay attention to me, my people, and listen to me, my nation; for instruction will come from me, and my justice for a light to the nations. I will bring it about quickly.


This is what the Lord says: Preserve justice and do what is right, for my salvation is coming soon, and my righteousness will be revealed.


Though all the peoples walk in the name of their own gods, we will walk  in the name of the  Lord  our God for ever and ever.


But I will look to the  Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.


‘Remember the instruction of Moses my servant, the statutes and ordinances I commanded him at Horeb  for all Israel.


These are the commands and ordinances the Lord commanded the Israelites through Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan opposite Jericho.


Both were righteous in God’s sight,  living blamelessly  according to all the commands and requirements of the Lord.


While he was  with them, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise.  ‘Which,’ he said, ‘you have heard me speak about;


Now if we hope for what we do not see,  we eagerly wait for it with patience.


May the Lord direct your hearts to God’s love and Christ’s endurance.
