Psalm 28

¹ Lord, you are my Rock, {\cf2\super [168]} \par I am calling to you for help.\par Don’t close your ears to my prayers.\par If you don’t answer my calls for help,\par then people will think I am no better\par than the dead people in the grave.\par

² \{Lord,\} I raise my arms and pray toward your Most Holy Place. {\cf2\super [169]} \par Hear me when I call to you.\par Show mercy to me.\par

³ Lord, don’t think of me\par as one of those bad people\par Those people greet their neighbors\par with the word “Shalom.” {\cf2\super [170]} \par But in their hearts they are planning\par bad things against their neighbors.\par

⁴ Lord, those people do bad things\par to other people.\par So make bad things happen to them.\par Give them the punishment they deserve.\par

⁵ Bad people don’t understand the good things the Lord does.\par They don’t see the good things God does.\par No, they don’t understand;\par they only try to destroy.\par

⁶ Praise the Lord!\par He heard my prayer for mercy.\par

⁷ The Lord is my strength.\par He is my shield.\par I trusted him.\par And he helped me.\par I am very happy!\par And I sing songs of praise to him.\par

⁸ The Lord protects his chosen one. {\cf2\super [171]} \par The Lord saves him.\par The Lord is his strength.\par

⁹ God, save your people.\par Bless the people who belong to you.\par Lead them and honor them {\cf2\super [172]} forever!\par
