Then he showedme Joshuathe highprieststandingbeforethe angelof the LORD,and Satanstandingat his righthandto accusehim.
And I will putenmityBetweenyou and the woman,And betweenyour seedand her seed;He shall bruiseyou on the head,And you shall bruisehim on the heel."
The angelwho has redeemedme from allevil,Blessthe lads;And may my nameliveon in them, And the namesof my fathersAbrahamand Isaac;And may they growinto a multitudein the midstof the earth."
Then Satanstoodup againstIsraeland movedDavidto numberIsrael.
"My sons,do not be negligentnow,for the LORDhas chosenyou to standbeforeHim, to ministerto Him, and to be His ministersand burnincense."
Amongthe sonsof the priestswhohad marriedforeignwiveswere foundof the sonsof Jeshuathe sonof Jozadak,and his brothers:Maaseiah,Eliezer,Jariband Gedaliah.
Thesecamewith Zerubbabel,Jeshua,Nehemiah,Seraiah,Reelaiah,Mordecai,Bilshan,Mispar,Bigvai,Rehum[and] Baanah.The numberof the menof the peopleof Israel:
thenZerubbabelthe sonof Shealtieland Jeshuathe sonof Jozadakaroseand beganto rebuildthe houseof Godwhichis in Jerusalem;and the prophetsof Godwere with them supportingthem.
Therefore He saidthat He would destroythem, Had not MosesHis chosenone stoodin the breachbeforeHim, To turnawayHis wrathfrom destroying[them].
Appointa wickedmanoverhim, And let an accuserstandat his righthand.
Therefore,thussaysthe LORD,"Ifyou return,then I will restoreyou-- BeforeMe you will stand;And ifyou extractthe preciousfrom the worthless,You will becomeMy spokesman.They for their partmay turnto you, But as for you, you must not turnto them.
"Yet they shall be ministersin My sanctuary,having oversightat the gatesof the houseand ministeringin the house;they shall slaughterthe burntofferingand the sacrificefor the people,and they shall standbeforethem to ministerto them.
"But the Leviticalpriests,the sonsof Zadok,whokeptchargeof My sanctuarywhen the sonsof Israelwentastrayfrom Me, shall comenearto Me to ministerto Me; and they shall standbeforeMe to offerMe the fatand the blood,"declaresthe LordGOD.
In the secondyearof Dariusthe king,on the firstdayof the sixthmonth,the wordof the LORDcameby the prophetHaggaito Zerubbabelthe sonof Shealtiel,governorof Judah,and to Joshuathe sonof Jehozadak,the highpriest,saying,
Then Zerubbabelthe sonof Shealtiel,and Joshuathe sonof Jehozadak,the highpriest,with allthe remnantof the people,obeyedthe voiceof the LORDtheir Godand the wordsof Haggaithe prophet,as the LORDtheir Godhad senthim. And the peopleshowedreverencefor the LORD.
But nowtakecourage,Zerubbabel,'declaresthe LORD,'takecouragealso, Joshuasonof Jehozadak,the highpriest,and allyou peopleof the landtakecourage,'declaresthe LORD,'and work;for I am with you,' declaresthe LORDof hosts.
The LORDansweredthe angelwho was speakingwith me with graciouswords,comfortingwords.
So I saidto the angelwho was speakingwith me, "Whatare these?"And he answeredme, "Theseare the hornswhichhave scatteredJudah,Israeland Jerusalem."
Then I said,"My lord,whatare these?"And the angelwho was speakingwith me saidto me, "I will showyou whattheseare."
And behold,the angelwho was speakingwith me was goingout, and anotherangelwas comingout to meethim,
Nowlisten,Joshuathe highpriest,you and your friendswho are sittingin frontof you-- indeedthey are menwho are a symbol,for behold,I am going to bringin My servantthe Branch.
Then he said,"Theseare the twoanointedoneswho are standingby the Lordof the wholeearth."
"Takesilverand gold,makean [ornate] crownand set[it] on the headof Joshuathe sonof Jehozadak,the highpriest.
"Behold,I am going to sendMy messenger,and he will clearthe waybeforeMe. And the Lord,whomyou seek,will suddenlycometo His temple;and the messengerof the covenant,in whomyou delight,behold,He is coming,"saysthe LORDof hosts.
"But keep on the alertat alltimes,prayingthat you may have strengthto escapeallthese thingsthat are aboutto take place,and to standbeforethe Sonof Man."
"Simon,Simon,behold,Satanhasdemanded[permission] to siftyou likewheat;
At that timethe LORDsetapartthe tribeof Levito carrythe arkof the covenantof the LORD,to standbeforethe LORDto serveHim and to blessin His nameuntilthisday.
"The LORDyour Godwill raiseup for you a prophetlikeme from amongyou, from your countrymen,you shall listento him.
Be of sober[spirit], be on the alert.Your adversary,the devil,prowls aroundlikea roaringlion,seekingsomeoneto devour.
The menof Beth-shemeshsaid,"Whois ableto standbeforethe LORD,thisholyGod?And to whomshall He goup from us?"
