And anotherangel,a second one,followed,saying,"Fallen,fallenis Babylonthe great,she whohas madeallthe nationsdrinkof the wineof the passionof her immorality."
"And the kingsof the earth,who committed [acts of] immoralityand lived sensuouslywith her, will weepand lamentoverher whenthey seethe smokeof her burning,
and the lightof a lampwill not shinein you anylonger;and the voiceof the bridegroomand bridewill not be heardin you any longer;for your merchantswere the great menof the earth,becauseallthe nationswere deceivedby your sorcery.
Babylonhas been a goldencupin the handof the LORD,Intoxicatingallthe earth.The nationshave drunkof her wine;Thereforethe nationsare goingmad.
Those who atedelicaciesAre desolatein the streets;Those rearedin purpleEmbraceashpits.
"Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylonhas devouredme [and] crushedme, He has setme down[like] an emptyvessel;He has swallowedme like a monster,He has filledhis stomachwith my delicacies;He has washedme away.
"Sohave those becometo you with whomyou have labored,Who have traffickedwith you from your youth;Eachhas wanderedin his own way;Thereis noneto saveyou.
"But whatdid you goout to see?A mandressedin softclothing?Thosewho are splendidlyclothedand livein luxuryare [found] in royal palaces!
[All] becauseof the manyharlotriesof the harlot,The charmingone,the mistressof sorceries,Who sellsnationsby her harlotriesAnd familiesby her sorceries.
But refuse[to put] youngerwidows[on the list], for whenthey feel sensual desires in disregardof Christ,they wantto get married,
"To the degreethat she glorifiedherselfand lived sensuously,to the same degreegiveher tormentand mourning;for she saysin her heart,I SIT[as] A QUEENAND I AMNOT A WIDOW,and will neverseemourning.'
"And they threwduston their headsand were cryingout, weepingand mourning,saying,Woe,woe,the greatcity,in whichallwho hadshipsat seabecame richby her wealth,for in onehourshe has been laid waste!'
