and she was with child;and she criedout, beingin laborand in painto give birth.
As the pregnantwomanapproaches[the time] to givebirth,She writhes[and] criesout in her laborpains,Thuswere we beforeYou, O LORD.
As a resultof the anguishof His soul,He will see[it and] be satisfied;By His knowledgethe RighteousOne,My Servant,will justifythe many,As He will beartheir iniquities.
"Shoutfor joy,O barrenone,you who have borneno[child]; Breakforthinto joyfulshoutingand cryaloud,you who have not travailed;For the sonsof the desolateone [will be] morenumerousThanthe sonsof the marriedwoman," saysthe LORD.
"A voiceof uproarfrom the city,a voicefrom the temple,The voiceof the LORDwho is renderingrecompenseto His enemies.
"Now,whydo you cryout loudly?Is therenokingamong you, Orhas your counselorperished,That agonyhas grippedyou like a woman in childbirth?
ThereforeHe will givethem [up] untilthe timeWhen she who is in laborhas bornea child. Then the remainderof His brethrenWill returnto the sonsof Israel.
"But allthese thingsare [merely] the beginningof birth pangs.
"Whenevera womanis in laborshe haspain,becauseher hourhas come;but whenshe givesbirthto the child,she no longerremembersthe anguishbecauseof the joythat a childhas been borninto the world.
My children,with whomI amagainin laboruntilChristis formedin you--
For it is written,"REJOICE,BARREN WOMANWHO DOES NOT BEAR;BREAK FORTHAND SHOUT,YOU WHO ARE NOT IN LABOR;FOR MORE NUMEROUSARE THE CHILDRENOF THE DESOLATETHANOF THE ONE WHO HASA HUSBAND."
And his tailswept awaya thirdof the starsof heavenand threwthem to the earth.And the dragonstoodbeforethe womanwho was aboutto givebirth,sothat whenshe gave birthhe might devourher child.
