The wickedwill returnto Sheol,[Even] allthe nationswhoforgetGod.
"Nowconsiderthis,you who forgetGod,OrI will tear[you] in pieces, and therewill be noneto deliver.
"Soare the pathsof allwhoforgetGod;And the hopeof the godlesswill perish,
"But for the cowardlyand unbelievingand abominableand murderersand immoral personsand sorcerersand idolatersand allliars,their part[will be] in the lakethat burnswith fireand brimstone,whichis the seconddeath."
For My peoplehave forgottenMe, They burnincenseto worthlessgods And they have stumbledfrom their ways,From the ancientpaths,To walkin bypaths,Not on a highway,
"Thisis your lot,the portionmeasuredto you From Me," declaresthe LORD,"Becauseyou have forgottenMe And trustedin falsehood.
"Can a virginforgether ornaments,Or a brideher attire?Yet My peoplehave forgottenMe Dayswithoutnumber.
And ifanyone'sname was not foundwrittenin the bookof life,he was throwninto the lakeof fire.
ThereforeSheolhas enlargedits throatand openedits mouthwithoutmeasure;And Jerusalem's splendor,her multitude,her din[of revelry] and the jubilantwithin her, descend[into it].
Woeto the wicked![It will go] badly[with him], For whathe deserveswill be doneto him.
The wickedis thrustdownby his wrongdoing,But the righteoushasa refugewhen he dies.
They quicklyforgotHis works;They did not waitfor His counsel,
As sheepthey are appointedfor Sheol;Deathshall be their shepherd;And the uprightshall ruleover them in the morning,And their formshall be for Sheolto consumeSothat they have nohabitation.
Ifwe had forgottenthe nameof our GodOr extendedour handsto a strangegod,
"I will punishher for the daysof the BaalsWhenshe used to offersacrificesto them And adornherself with her earringsand jewelry,And followher lovers,so that she forgotMe," declaresthe LORD.
A voiceis heardon the bareheights,The weeping[and] the supplicationsof the sonsof Israel;Becausethey have pervertedtheir way,They have forgottenthe LORDtheir God.
Allthishas comeupon us, but we have not forgottenYou, And we have not dealtfalselywith Your covenant.
"He capturesthe wiseby their own shrewdness,And the adviceof the cunningis quicklythwarted.
His own iniquitieswill capturethe wicked,And he will be heldwith the cordsof his sin.
"You will profaneyourself in the sightof the nations,and you will knowthat I am the LORD."'"
