Since I am afflictedand needy,Let the Lordbe mindfulof me. You are my helpand my deliverer;Do not delay,O my God.
"O my God,inclineYour earand hear!OpenYour eyesand seeour desolationsand the citywhichis calledby Your name;for we are not presentingour supplicationsbeforeYou on accountof any meritsof our own, but on accountof Your greatcompassion.
"Blessedare the poorin spirit,for theirsis the kingdomof heaven.
Thispoormancried,and the LORDheardhim And savedhim out of allhis troubles.
Listen,my belovedbrethren:did not Godchoosethe poorof thisworld[to be] richin faithand heirsof the kingdomwhichHe promisedto thosewho loveHim?
"THE SPIRITOF THE LORDIS UPON ME, BECAUSEHE ANOINTEDME TO PREACH THE GOSPELTO THE POOR.HE HAS SENTME TO PROCLAIMRELEASETO THE CAPTIVES,AND RECOVERY OF SIGHTTO THE BLIND,TO SETFREETHOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
"For My handmadeallthesethings,Thus allthesethingscameinto being,"declaresthe LORD."But to thisoneI will look,To him whois humbleand contriteof spirit,and whotremblesat My word.
"InclineYour ear,O LORD,and hear;openYour eyes,O LORD,and see;and listento allthe wordsof Sennacherib,who sent[them] to reproachthe livingGod.
I cryaloudwith my voiceto the LORD;I makesupplicationwith my voiceto the LORD.
I knowthat the LORDwill maintainthe causeof the afflictedAnd justicefor the poor.
Takeawayreproachand contemptfrom me, For I observeYour testimonies.
He has regardedthe prayerof the destituteAnd has not despisedtheir prayer.
I have calledupon You, for You will answerme, O God;InclineYour earto me, hearmy speech.
Hearmy prayer,O LORD!And let my cryfor helpcometo You.
You have seen[it], for You have beheldmischiefand vexationto takeit into Your hand.The unfortunatecommits[himself] to You; You have beenthe helperof the orphan.
Turnto me and be graciousto me, For I am lonelyand afflicted.
