Now it cameabout, whenIsaacwas oldand his eyeswere toodimto see,that he calledhis oldersonEsauand saidto him, "My son."And he saidto him, "HereI am."
They will comeand will declareHis righteousnessTo a peoplewho will be born,that He has performed[it].
For suchis God,Our Godforeverand ever;He will guideus untildeath.
Do not castme offin the timeof oldage;Do not forsakeme when my strengthfails.
We will not concealthem from their children,But tellto the generationto comethe praisesof the LORD,And His strengthand His wondrousworksthat He has done.
That the generationto comemight know,[even] the children[yet] to be born,[That] they may ariseand tell[them] to their children,
"You shall tellyour sonon that day,saying,'It is becauseof whatthe LORDdidfor me when I cameout of Egypt.'
Even to [your] oldageI will be the same,And evento [your] grayingyearsI will bear[you]! I have done[it], and I will carry[you]; And I will bear[you] and I will deliver[you].
Awake,awake,puton strength,O armof the LORD;Awakeas in the daysof old,the generationsof longago.Was it not You who cutRahabin pieces,Who piercedthe dragon?
Whohas believedour message?And to whomhas the armof the LORDbeen revealed?
"For David,after he had servedthe purposeof Godin his owngeneration,fell asleep,and was laidamonghis fathersand underwentdecay;
Now Eliwas ninety-eightyearsold,and his eyeswere setso that he couldnot see.
When he mentionedthe arkof God,Eli felloffthe seatbackwardbesidethe gate,and his neckwas brokenand he died,for he was oldand heavy.Thus he judgedIsraelfortyyears.
