He sentsignsand wondersinto your midst,O Egypt,Upon Pharaohand allhis servants.
The sunto ruleby day,For His lovingkindnessis everlasting,
PraiseHim, sunand moon;PraiseHim, allstarsof light!
Whichis as a bridegroomcomingout of his chamber;It rejoicesas a strongmanto runhis course.
Askof Me, and I will surely givethe nationsas Your inheritance,And the [very] endsof the earthas Your possession.
The meadowsare clothedwith flocksAnd the valleysare coveredwith grain;They shoutfor joy,yes,they sing.
Sayto God,"Howawesomeare Your works!Because of the greatnessof Your powerYour enemieswill givefeignedobedienceto You.
Yours is the day,Yours alsois the night;You have preparedthe lightand the sun.
You YourselfcrushedRahablike one who is slain;You scatteredYour enemieswith Your mightyarm.
The nationsrumbleon like the rumblingof manywaters,But He will rebukethem and they will fleefaraway,And be chasedlike chaffin the mountainsbeforethe wind,Or like whirlingdustbeforea gale.
"And [beware] not to liftup your eyesto heavenand seethe sunand the moonand the stars,allthe hostof heaven,and be drawnawayand worshipthem and servethem, those whichthe LORDyour Godhas allottedto allthe peoplesunderthe wholeheaven.
And in that hourthere was a greatearthquake,and a tenthof the cityfell;seventhousandpeoplewere killedin the earthquake,and the restwere terrifiedand gavegloryto the Godof heaven.
