I will liftup my eyesto the mountains;From whereshall my helpcome?
I was gladwhen they saidto me, "Let us goto the houseof the LORD."
"Had it not beenthe LORDwhowas on our side," Let Israelnowsay,
Those who trustin the LORDAre as MountZion,which cannotbe movedbut abidesforever.
When the LORDbroughtbackthe captiveones of Zion,We were like those who dream.
Unlessthe LORDbuildsthe house,They laborin vainwho buildit; Unlessthe LORDguardsthe city,The watchmankeepsawakein vain.
How blessedis everyonewho fearsthe LORD,Who walksin His ways.
"Manytimesthey have persecutedme from my youthup," Let Israelnowsay,
Out of the depthsI have criedto You, O LORD.
O LORD,my heartis not proud,normy eyeshaughty;Nordo I involvemyself in greatmatters, Or in thingstoodifficultfor me.
Remember,O LORD,on David'sbehalf, Allhis affliction;
Behold,howgoodand howpleasantit is For brothersto dwelltogetherin unity!
Behold,blessthe LORD,allservantsof the LORD,Who serveby nightin the houseof the LORD!
For my eyesare towardYou, O GOD,the Lord;In You I takerefuge;do not leaveme defenseless.
He who sitsin the heavenslaughs,The Lordscoffsat them.
My eyesare continuallytowardthe LORD,For He will pluckmy feetout of the net.
For thussaysthe highand exaltedOne Who livesforever,whose nameis Holy,"I dwell[on] a highand holyplace, And [also] with the contriteand lowlyof spiritIn order to revivethe spiritof the lowlyAnd to revivethe heartof the contrite.
Thussaysthe LORD,"Heavenis My throneand the earthis My footstool.Wherethenis a houseyou could buildfor Me? And whereis a placethat I may rest?
"Pray,then,in this way:'Our Fatherwhois in heaven,Hallowedbe Your name.
"But the tax collector,standingsome distance away,was evenunwillingto liftup his eyesto heaven,but was beatinghis breast,saying,'God,be mercifulto me, the sinner!'
