"Becauseof the devastationof the afflicted,becauseof the groaningof the needy,NowI will arise,"saysthe LORD;"I will sethim in the safetyfor which he longs."
"But He savesfrom the swordof their mouth,And the poorfrom the handof the mighty.
"You will be hiddenfrom the scourgeof the tongue,And you will not be afraidof violencewhenit comes.
Arise,O LORD;O God,liftup Your hand.Do not forgetthe afflicted.
To vindicatethe orphanand the oppressed,So that manwho is of the earthwill nolongercauseterror.
His waysprosperat alltimes;Your judgmentsare on high,out of his sight;As for allhis adversaries,he snortsat them.
Howgreatis Your goodness,WhichYou have storedup for those who fearYou, Which You have wroughtfor those who takerefugein You, Beforethe sonsof men!
Thispoormancried,and the LORDheardhim And savedhim out of allhis troubles.
They mockand wickedlyspeakof oppression;They speakfrom on high.
But Pharaohsaid,"Whois the LORDthat I should obeyHis voiceto letIsraelgo?I do not knowthe LORD,and besides,I will not letIsraelgo."
He who oppressesthe poortauntshis Maker,But he who is graciousto the needyhonorsHim.
Deathand lifeare in the powerof the tongue,And those who loveit will eatits fruit.
Then I lookedagainat allthe actsof oppressionwhichwere being doneunderthe sun.And behold[I saw] the tearsof the oppressedand [that] they hadnooneto comfort[them]; and on the sideof their oppressorswas power,but they hadnooneto comfort[them].
Ifyou seeoppressionof the poorand denialof justiceand righteousnessin the province,do not be shockedat the sight;for one officialwatchesoveranother official,and there are higherofficialsoverthem.
It will becomea signand a witnessto the LORDof hostsin the landof Egypt;for they will cryto the LORDbecauseof oppressors,and He will sendthem a Saviorand a Champion,and He will deliverthem.
"NowI will arise,"saysthe LORD,"NowI will be exalted,nowI will be liftedup.
"As for his father,becausehe practicedextortion,robbed[his] brotherand didwhatwas not goodamonghis people,behold,he will diefor his iniquity.
They turn,[but] not upward,They are like a deceitfulbow;Their princeswill fallby the swordBecauseof the insolenceof their tongue.This[will be] their derisionin the landof Egypt.
Behold,the payof the laborerswho mowedyour fields,[and] which has been withheldby you, criesout [against you]; and the outcryof thosewho did the harvestinghas reachedthe earsof the Lordof Sabaoth.
So they putawaythe foreigngodsfrom amongthem and servedthe LORD;and He couldbearthe miseryof Israelnolonger.
