He sitsin the lurkingplacesof the villages;In the hidingplaceshe killsthe innocent;His eyesstealthilywatchfor the unfortunate.
Moreover,Manassehshedverymuchinnocentblooduntilhe had filledJerusalemfrom oneendto another;besideshis sinwith whichhe made Judahsin,in doingevilin the sightof the LORD.
"The murdererarisesat dawn;He killsthe poorand the needy,And at nighthe is as a thief.
They have nowsurroundedus in our steps;They settheir eyesto cast[us] downto the ground.
They slaythe widowand the strangerAnd murderthe orphans.
Do not liein wait,O wickedman,against the dwellingof the righteous;Do not destroyhis restingplace;
"But your eyesand your heartAre [intent] onlyupon your own dishonestgain,And on sheddinginnocentbloodAnd on practicingoppressionand extortion."
You piercedwith his own spearsThe headof his throngs.They stormedin to scatterus; Their exultation[was] likethose Who devourthe oppressedin secret.
Nowafterthisthe Lordappointedseventyothers,and sentthem in pairsaheadof Him to everycityand placewhereHe Himselfwas goingto come.
Soon afterwards,He [began] going aroundfrom one cityand villageto another,proclaimingand preachingthe kingdomof God.The twelvewere with Him,
The menof Shechemsetmen in ambushagainst him on the topsof the mountains,and they robbedallwhomight passby them along the road;and it was toldto Abimelech.
Then the kingsaidto Doeg,"You turnaroundand attackthe priests."And Doegthe Edomiteturnedaroundand attackedthe priests,and he killedthat dayeighty-fivemenwho worethe linenephod.
"So look,and learnaboutallthe hidingplaceswherehe hideshimself and returnto me with certainty,and I will gowith you; and ifhe is in the land,I will searchhim out among allthe thousandsof Judah."
