The righteousoneconsidersthe houseof the wicked,Turningthe wickedto ruin.
Thus it cameabout, when Goddestroyedthe citiesof the valley,that GodrememberedAbraham,and sentLotout of the midstof the overthrow,when He overthrewthe citiesin whichLotlived.
"I have seenthe foolishtakingroot,And I cursedhis abodeimmediately.
"He trustsin his house,but it does not stand;He holdsfastto it, but it does not endure.
Whois wise?Let him giveheedto thesethings,And considerthe lovingkindnessesof the LORD.
But Godwill breakyou downforever;He will snatchyou up and tearyou awayfrom [your] tent,And uprootyou from the landof the living.Selah.
Righteousnessguardsthe one whose wayis blameless,But wickednesssubvertsthe sinner.
The houseof the wickedwill be destroyed,But the tentof the uprightwill flourish.
The wickedis thrustdownby his wrongdoing,But the righteoushasa refugewhen he dies.
When the wickedincrease,transgressionincreases;But the righteouswill seetheir fall.
Whoeveris wise,let him understandthesethings;[Whoever] is discerning,let him knowthem. For the waysof the LORDare right,And the righteouswill walkin them, But transgressorswill stumblein them.
"I overthrewyou, as GodoverthrewSodomand Gomorrah,And you were like a firebrandsnatchedfrom a blaze;Yet you have not returnedto Me," declaresthe LORD.
Nevertheless,with mostof them Godwas not well-pleased;for they were laid lowin the wilderness.
