An evilmanis ensnaredby the transgressionof his lips,But the righteouswill escapefrom trouble.
Wisemenstoreup knowledge,But with the mouthof the foolish,ruinis at hand.
"As for the headof those who surroundme, May the mischiefof their lipscoverthem.
So they will make him stumble;Their own tongueis againstthem; Allwho seethem will shakethe head.
[If] you have been snaredwith the wordsof your mouth,Have been caughtwith the wordsof your mouth,
The wiseof heartwill receivecommands,But a babblingfoolwill be ruined.
When he sawher, he torehis clothesand said,"Alas,my daughter!You have broughtme verylow,and you are among those who troubleme; for I have givenmy wordto the LORD,and I cannottake[it] back."
The wordsof a whispererare like daintymorsels,And they godowninto the innermostpartsof the body.
His own iniquitieswill capturethe wicked,And he will be heldwith the cordsof his sin.
In the mouthof the foolishis a rodfor [his] back,But the lipsof the wisewill protectthem.
Understandingis a fountainof lifeto one whohasit, But the disciplineof foolsis folly.
