A hot-temperedmanstirsup strife,But the slowto angercalmsa dispute.
A wisesonmakesa fatherglad,But a foolishmandespiseshis mother.
The sluggardsays,"There is a lionoutside;I will be killedin the streets!"
Thorns[and] snaresare in the wayof the perverse;He who guardshimselfwill be farfrom them.
The sluggardsays,"There is a lionin the road!A lionis in the opensquare!"
In allyour waysacknowledgeHim, And He will makeyour pathsstraight.
Goto the ant,O sluggard,Observeher waysand be wise,
"They are allstraightforwardto him who understands,And rightto those who findknowledge.
Your earswill heara wordbehindyou, "Thisis the way,walkin it," wheneveryou turnto the rightor to the left.
A highwaywill be there,a roadway,And it will be calledthe Highwayof Holiness.The uncleanwill not travelon it, But it [will] be for him who walks[that] way,And foolswill not wander[on it].
And it will be said,"Buildup, buildup, preparethe way,Remove[every] obstacleout of the wayof My people."
