From KadeshMosesthen sentmessengersto the kingof Edom:"Thusyour brotherIsraelhas said,You knowallthe hardshipthat has befallenus;
The LORDsaidto her, "Twonationsare in your womb;And twopeopleswill be separatedfrom your body;And one peopleshall be strongerthanthe other;And the oldershall servethe younger."
Now the firstcameforthred,allover like a hairygarment;and they namedhim Esau.
Afterwardhis brothercameforthwith his handholdingon to Esau'sheel,so his namewas calledJacob;and Isaacwas sixtyyearsoldwhen she gavebirthto them.
Then Jacobaskedhim and said,"Pleasetellme your name."But he said,"Whyis it that you askmy name?"And he blessedhim there.

Thussaysthe LORD,"For threetransgressionsof Edomand for fourI will not revokeits [punishment], Becausehe pursuedhis brotherwith the sword,While he stifledhis compassion;His angeralso torecontinually,And he maintainedhis furyforever.

they proceededto cometo Mosesand Aaronand to allthe congregationof the sonsof Israelin the wildernessof Paran,at Kadesh;and they broughtbackwordto them and to allthe congregationand showedthem the fruitof the land.
that our fatherswentdownto Egypt,and we stayedin Egypta longtime,and the Egyptianstreatedus and our fathersbadly.
Now when they setout from Kadesh,the sonsof Israel,the wholecongregation,cameto MountHor.
"You shall not detestan Edomite,for he is your brother;you shall not detestan Egyptian,becauseyou were an alienin his land.
"For we have heardhowthe LORDdriedup the waterof the RedSeabeforeyou when you cameout of Egypt,and whatyou didto the twokingsof the Amoriteswhowere beyondthe Jordan,to Sihonand Og,whomyou utterlydestroyed.
and saidto the men,"I knowthat the LORDhas givenyou the land,and that the terrorof you has fallenon us, and that allthe inhabitantsof the landhave meltedawaybeforeyou.
and allthat He didto the twokingsof the Amoriteswhowere beyondthe Jordan,to Sihonkingof Heshbonand to Ogkingof Bashanwhowas at Ashtaroth.
They saidto him, "Your servantshave comefrom a veryfarcountrybecause of the fameof the LORDyour God;for we have heardthe reportof Him and allthat He didin Egypt,
