So the LORDsaidto Aaron,"You and your sonsand your father'shouseholdwith you shall bearthe guiltin connection with the sanctuary,and you and your sonswith you shall bearthe guiltin connection with your priesthood.
"It shall be on Aaron'sforehead,and Aaronshall takeaway the iniquityof the holythingswhichthe sonsof Israelconsecrate,with regard to alltheir holygifts;and it shall alwaysbe on his forehead,that they may be acceptedbeforethe LORD.
As a resultof the anguishof His soul,He will see[it and] be satisfied;By His knowledgethe RighteousOne,My Servant,will justifythe many,As He will beartheir iniquities.
Allof us like sheephave goneastray,Eachof us has turnedto his own way;But the LORDhas caused the iniquityof us allTo fallon Him.
"As for you, liedownon your leftsideand laythe iniquityof the houseof Israelon it; you shall beartheir iniquityfor the numberof daysthat you lieon it.
"Whydid you not eatthe sinofferingat the holyplace?For it is mostholy,and He gaveit to you to bearaway the guiltof the congregation,to makeatonementfor them beforethe LORD.
and [so] cause them to bearpunishmentfor guiltby eatingtheir holy[gifts]; for I am the LORDwho sanctifiesthem.'"
They shall therefore keepMy charge,so that they will not bearsinbecauseof it and diethereby becausethey profaneit; I am the LORDwho sanctifiesthem.
According to the numberof dayswhichyou spiedout the land,fortydays,for everydayyou shall bearyour guilta year,[even] fortyyears,and you will knowMy opposition.
and that He has broughtyou near,[Korah], and allyour brothers,sonsof Levi,with you? And are you seekingfor the priesthoodalso?
"Everyonewho comesnear,who comesnearto the tabernacleof the LORD,must die.Are we to perishcompletely?"
and writeAaron'snameon the rodof Levi;for there is onerodfor the head[of each] of their fathers'households.
So Mosesdepositedthe rodsbeforethe LORDin the tentof the testimony.
"Thisalso is yours, the offeringof their gift,even allthe waveofferingsof the sonsof Israel;I have giventhem to you and to your sonsand daughterswith you as a perpetualallotment.Everyoneof your householdwho is cleanmay eatit.
"Bringthe tribeof Levinearand setthem beforeAaronthe priest,that they may servehim.
At that timethe LORDsetapartthe tribeof Levito carrythe arkof the covenantof the LORD,to standbeforethe LORDto serveHim and to blessin His nameuntilthisday.
Obeyyour leadersand submit[to them], for they keep watchoveryour soulsas those who will givean account.Let them dothiswith joyand not with grief,for thiswould be unprofitablefor you.
For we do not havea high priestwhocannotsympathizewith our weaknesses,but One whohas been temptedin all thingsas [we are, yet] withoutsin.
and He Himselfboreour sinsin His bodyon the cross,sothat we might dieto sinand liveto righteousness;for by His woundsyou were healed.
So Micahconsecratedthe Levite,and the youngmanbecamehis priestand livedin the houseof Micah.
