"Speakto the sonsof Israel,and getfrom them a rodfor each father'shousehold:twelverods,from alltheir leadersaccording to their fathers'households.You shall writeeachnameon his rod,
"The sceptershall not departfrom Judah,Northe ruler'sstafffrom betweenhis feet,UntilShilohcomes,And to him [shall be] the obedienceof the peoples.
as well as the priestswho were enrolledgenealogicallyaccording to their fathers'households,and the Levitesfrom twentyyearsoldand upwards,by their duties[and] their divisions.
The LORDwill stretchforthYour strongscepterfrom Zion,[saying], "Rulein the midstof Your enemies."
For the scepterof wickednessshall not restupon the landof the righteous,So that the righteouswill not putforththeir handsto do wrong.
"With it you shall anointthe tentof meetingand the arkof the testimony,
"You shall takein your handthisstaff,with whichyou shall performthe signs."
The LORDsaidto him, "Whatis that in your hand?"And he said,"A staff."
And firehas goneout from [its] branch;It has consumedits shoots[and] fruit,So that there is not in it a strongbranch,A scepterto rule.'"Thisis a lamentation,and has becomea lamentation.
Sharpenedto makea slaughter,Polishedto flashlike lightning!'Orshall we rejoice,the rodof My sondespisingeverytree?
"For [there is] a testing;and whatifeventhe rodwhich despiseswill be nomore?" declaresthe LordGOD.
ShepherdYour peoplewith Your scepter,The flockof Your possessionWhich dwellsby itselfin the woodland,In the midstof a fruitfulfield.Let them feedin Bashanand GileadAs in the daysof old.
Then the LORDspoketo Moses,saying,
and writeAaron'snameon the rodof Levi;for there is onerodfor the head[of each] of their fathers'households.
Now on the daythat Moseshad finishedsettingup the tabernacle,he anointedit and consecratedit with allits furnishingsand the altarand allits utensils;he anointedthem and consecratedthem also.
