When I enteredthe houseof Shemaiahthe sonof Delaiah,sonof Mehetabel,whowas confinedat home, he said,"Let us meettogetherin the houseof God,withinthe temple,and let us closethe doorsof the temple,for they are comingto killyou, and they are comingto killyou at night."
Then Baal-hananthe sonof Achbordied,and Hadarbecamekingin his place;and the nameof his citywas Pau;and his wife'snamewas Mehetabel,the daughterof Matred,daughterof Mezahab.
Againstthe wallof the househe builtstoriesencompassingthe wallsof the housearoundboth the naveand the innersanctuary;thus he madesidechambersallaround.
So he was hiddenwith her in the houseof the LORDsixyears,while Athaliahwas reigningoverthe land.
For the wholehouseof Ahabshall perish,and I will cutofffrom Ahabeverymaleperson both bondand freein Israel.
Moreover, when Ahazgatheredtogether the utensilsof the houseof God,he cutthe utensilsof the houseof Godin pieces;and he closedthe doorsof the houseof the LORDand madealtarsfor himself in everycornerof Jerusalem.
In the firstyearof his reign,in the firstmonth,he openedthe doorsof the houseof the LORDand repairedthem.
"They have alsoshutthe doorsof the porchand putout the lamps,and have not burnedincenseor offeredburntofferingsin the holyplace to the Godof Israel.

So I sentfor Eliezer,Ariel,Shemaiah,Elnathan,Jarib,Elnathan,Nathan,Zechariahand Meshullam,leadingmen,and for Joiariband Elnathan,teachers.
Then I perceivedthat surelyGodhad not senthim, but he uttered[his] prophecyagainstme because Tobiahand Sanballathad hiredhim.
They speakfalsehoodto oneanother;With flatteringlipsand with a doubleheartthey speak.
The wickedplotsagainst the righteousAnd gnashesat him with his teeth.
With [his] mouththe godlessmandestroyshis neighbor,But through knowledgethe righteouswill be delivered.
JeremiahcommandedBaruch,saying,"I am restricted;I cannotgointo the houseof the LORD.
The Spiritthen enteredme and made me standon my feet,and He spokewith me and saidto me, "Go,shutyourself up in your house.
"Ohthat there were one among you who would shutthe gates,that you might not uselesslykindle[fire on] My altar!I am not pleasedwith you," saysthe LORDof hosts,"norwill I acceptan offeringfrom you.
"Bewareof the false prophets,whocometo you in sheep'sclothing,but inwardlyare ravenouswolves.
"For everyonewho doesevilhatesthe Light,and does not cometo the Lightfor fearthat his deedswill be exposed.
Thenallthe citywas provoked,and the peoplerushed together,and taking holdof Paulthey draggedhim out of the temple,and immediatelythe doorswere shut.
