I saidto them, "We according to our abilityhave redeemedour Jewishbrotherswho were soldto the nations;now would you evensellyour brothersthat they may be soldto us?" Then they were silentand could not finda word[to say].
Again I said,"The thingwhichyou are doingis not good;should you not walkin the fearof our Godbecauseof the reproachof the nations,our enemies?
The voiceof the nobleswas hushed,And their tonguestuckto their palate.
"They are dismayed,they nolongeranswer;Wordshave failedthem.
"He who kidnapsa man,whether he sellshim or he is foundin his possession,shall surelybe putto death.
and he saidto him, 'Friend,howdid you comein herewithoutweddingclothes?'And the man was speechless.
"To onehe gavefivetalents,to another,two,and to another,one,eachaccordingto his ownability;and he went on his journey.
"For to everyonewho has,[more] shall be given,and he will have an abundance;but from the one who does not have,evenwhathe does haveshall be taken away.
For ifbecauseof foodyour brotheris hurt,you are no longerwalkingaccordingto love.Do not destroywith your foodhim for whomChristdied.
Nowwe knowthat whateverthe Lawsays,it speaksto thosewho are underthe Law,sothat everymouthmay be closedand allthe worldmay becomeaccountableto God;
For throughyour knowledgehe who is weakis ruined,the brotherfor whosesakeChristdied.
For ifthe readinessis present,it is acceptableaccordingto what [a person] has,not accordingto what he does not have.
So then,whilewe haveopportunity,let us dogoodto all people,and especiallyto thosewho are of the householdof the faith.
"Ifa manis caughtkidnappinganyof his countrymenof the sonsof Israel,and he dealswith him violentlyor sellshim, then that thiefshall die;so you shall purgethe evilfrom amongyou.
