We will also bringthe firstof our dough,our contributions,the fruitof everytree,the newwineand the oilto the priestsat the chambersof the houseof our God,and the titheof our groundto the Levites,for the Levitesare they who receivethe tithesin allthe ruraltowns.
The sonsof Israeland Judahwho livedin the citiesof Judahalsobroughtin the titheof oxenand sheep,and the titheof sacredgiftswhich were consecratedto the LORDtheir God,and placed[them] in heaps.
I also discoveredthat the portionsof the Leviteshad not been given[them], so that the Levitesand the singerswho performedthe servicehad goneaway,eachto his own field.
AllJudahthen broughtthe titheof the grain,wineand oilinto the storehouses.
had prepareda largeroomfor him, whereformerlythey putthe grain offerings,the frankincense,the utensilsand the tithesof grain,wineand oilprescribedfor the Levites,the singersand the gatekeepers,and the contributionsfor the priests.
Then I gavean orderand they cleansedthe rooms;and I returnedtherethe utensilsof the houseof Godwith the grain offeringsand the frankincense.
you shall devoteto the LORDthe firstoffspringof everywomb,and the firstoffspringof everybeastthat you own;the malesbelong to the LORD.
"Sanctifyto Me everyfirstborn,the firstoffspringof everywombamong the sonsof Israel,both of manand beast;it belongs to Me."
You shall bringin from your dwellingplacestwo[loaves] of breadfor a waveoffering,made of two-tenths[of an] [ephah]; they shall be of a fineflour,bakedwith leavenas firstfruitsto the LORD.
"Bringthe wholetitheinto the storehouse,so that there may be foodin My house,and testMe nowin this,"saysthe LORDof hosts,"ifI will not openfor you the windowsof heavenand pourout for you a blessinguntilit overflows.
"Will a manrobGod?Yetyou are robbingMe! But you say,'Howhave we robbedYou?' In tithesand offerings.
"Everyfirstissueof the wombof allflesh,whether manor animal,whichthey offerto the LORD,shall be yours; neverthelessthe firstbornof manyou shall surelyredeem,and the firstbornof uncleananimalsyou shall redeem.
"Their meatshall be yours; it shall be yours like the breastof a waveofferingand like the rightthigh.
"To the sonsof Levi,behold,I have givenallthe tithein Israelfor an inheritance,in returnfor their servicewhichthey perform,the serviceof the tentof meeting.
Ifthe first piece[of dough] is holy,the lumpis also;and ifthe rootis holy,the branchesare too.
"You shall surelytitheallthe producefrom whatyou sow,which comesout of the fieldeveryyear.
"You shall givehim the firstfruitsof your grain,your newwine,and your oil,and the firstshearingof your sheep.
that you shall takesomeof the firstof allthe produceof the groundwhichyou bringin from your landthat the LORDyour Godgivesyou, and you shall put[it] in a basketand goto the placewherethe LORDyour Godchoosesto establishHis name.
