From that landhe wentforthinto Assyria,and builtNinevehand Rehoboth-Irand Calah,
And it will be that like a huntedgazelle,Or like sheepwith noneto gather[them], They will eachturnto his own people,And eachonefleeto his own land.
"Like a swallow,[like] a crane,soI twitter;I moanlike a dove;My eyeslookwistfullyto the heights;O Lord,I am oppressed,be my security.
"You are weariedwith your manycounsels;Let nowthe astrologers,Those who prophesyby the stars,Those who predictby the newmoons,Standup and saveyou from whatwill comeupon you.
Goforthfrom Babylon!Fleefrom the Chaldeans!Declarewith the soundof joyfulshouting,proclaimthis,Sendit out to the endof the earth;Say,"The LORDhas redeemedHis servantJacob."
Allof us growllike bears,And moansadlylike doves;We hopefor justice,but thereis none,For salvation,[but] it is farfrom us.
"Whyhave I seen[it]? They are terrified,They are drawingback,And their mightymenare defeatedAnd have takenrefugein flight,Withoutfacingback;Terroris on everyside!"Declaresthe LORD.
"Becauseof the noiseof the gallopinghoofsof his stallions,The tumultof his chariots,[and] the rumblingof his wheels,The fathershave not turnedbackfor [their] children,Becauseof the limpnessof [their] hands,

O you who dwellby manywaters,Abundantin treasures,Your endhas come,The measureof your end.
The mightymenof Babylonhave ceasedfighting,They stayin the strongholds;Their strengthis exhausted,They are becoming[like] women;Their dwellingplacesare seton fire,The barsof her [gates] are broken.
