But He kept silentand did not answer.Againthe high priestwas questioningHim, and sayingto Him, "Are You the Christ,the Sonof the Blessed[One]?"
Blessedare You, O LORD;Teachme Your statutes.
"I will surelytellof the decreeof the LORD:He saidto Me, 'You are My Son,TodayI have begottenYou.
"I have becomemute,I do not openmy mouth,Becauseit is You who have done[it].
He was oppressedand He was afflicted,Yet He did not openHis mouth;Like a lambthat is ledto slaughter,And like a sheepthat is silentbeforeits shearers,So He did not openHis mouth.
SimonPeteranswered,"You are the Christ,the Sonof the livingGod."
and behold,a voiceout of the heavenssaid,"Thisis My belovedSon,in whomI am well-pleased."
And they criedout, saying,"Whatbusiness do we have with each other, Sonof God?Have You comehereto tormentus beforethe time?"
The high prieststoodup [and came] forwardand questionedJesus,saying,"Do You not answer?Whatis it that these menare testifying againstYou?"
PilatequestionedHim, "Are You the Kingof the Jews?"And He answeredhim, "[It is as] you say."
"I myselfhave seen,and have testifiedthat thisis the Sonof God."
The Jewsthengathered aroundHim, and were sayingto Him, "How longwill You keepus in suspense?IfYou are the Christ,tellus plainly."
do you sayof Him, whomthe Fathersanctifiedand sentinto the world,'You are blaspheming,'becauseI said,I amthe Sonof God'?
ThereforePilatesaidto Him, "SoYou are a king?"Jesusanswered,"You say[correctly] that I ama king.For thisI have been born,and for thisI have comeinto the world,to testifyto the truth.Everyonewho is of the truthhearsMy voice."
The Jewsansweredhim, "We havea law,and by that lawHe oughtto diebecauseHe madeHimselfout [to] [be] the Sonof God."
and he enteredinto the Praetoriumagainand saidto Jesus,"Whereare You from?" But Jesusgavehim noanswer.
Nowthe passageof Scripturewhichhe was readingwas this:"HE WAS LEDAS A SHEEPTO SLAUGHTER;AND AS A LAMBBEFOREITS SHEARERIS SILENT,SOHE DOES NOT OPENHIS MOUTH.
accordingto the gloriousgospelof the blessedGod,with whichI have been entrusted.
whichHe will bringabout at the propertime--He who is the blessedand onlySovereign,the Kingof kingsand Lordof lords,
and while being reviled,He did not revile in return;while suffering,He utterednothreats,but kept entrusting[Himself] to Him who judgesrighteously;
