But [Peter] kept sayinginsistently,"[Even] ifI have to diewith You, I will not denyYou!" And they allwere sayingthe same thingalso.
Then Pharaohsaidto him, "But whathave you lackedwith me, that behold,you are seekingto goto your own country?"And he answered,"Nothing;neverthelessyou must surelyletme go."
Then Hazaelsaid,"But whatis your servant,[who is but] a dog,that he should dothisgreatthing?"And Elishaanswered,"The LORDhas shownme that you will be kingoverAram."
Now as for me, I saidin my prosperity,"I will neverbe moved."
Allthe peopleansweredtogetherand said,"Allthat the LORDhas spokenwe will do!"And Mosesbroughtbackthe wordsof the peopleto the LORD.
Pride[goes] beforedestruction,And a haughtyspiritbeforestumbling.
A manof [too many] friends[comes] to ruin,But thereis a friendwhostickscloserthana brother.
A man'spridewill bringhim low,But a humblespiritwill obtainhonor.
I know,O LORD,that a man'swayis not in himself,Noris it in a manwho walksto directhis steps.
"The heartis moredeceitfulthanallelse And is desperatelysick;Whocan understandit?
"But whoeverdeniesMe beforemen,I will alsodenyhim beforeMy Fatherwho is in heaven.
They saidto Him, "We are able."And Jesussaidto them, "The cupthat I drinkyou shall drink;and you shall be baptizedwith the baptismwith whichI am baptized.
And Jesussaidto him, "TrulyI sayto you, that thisverynight,beforea roostercrowstwice,you yourselfwill denyMe three times."
They cameto a placenamedGethsemane;and He saidto His disciples,"SithereuntilI have prayed."
But they were insistent,with loudvoicesaskingthat He be crucified.And their voices[began] to prevail.
Petersaidto Him, "Lord,whycanI not followYou right now?I will lay downmy lifefor You."
