Jesussaidto him, "TrulyI sayto you that this[very] night,beforea roostercrows,you will denyMe three times."
"Therefore,be on the alert--for you do not knowwhenthe masterof the houseis coming,whetherin the evening,at midnight,orwhenthe rooster crows,orin the morning--
But Petersaidto Him, "[Even] thoughallmay fall away,yetI will not."
But [Peter] kept sayinginsistently,"[Even] ifI have to diewith You, I will not denyYou!" And they allwere sayingthe same thingalso.
And He said, "I sayto you, Peter,the roosterwill not crowtodayuntilyou have deniedthree timesthat you knowMe."
Jesusanswered,"Will you lay downyour lifefor Me? Truly,truly,I sayto you, a roosterwill not crowuntilyou denyMe three times.
Thenthe slave-girlwho kept the doorsaidto Peter,"You are not also[one] of thisman'sdisciples,are you?" He said,"I amnot."
Thereforelet him who thinkshe standstake heedthat he does not fall.
