And he questionedHim at somelength;but He answeredhim nothing.
And He did not answerhim with regardto evena [single] charge,sothe governorwas quiteamazed.
and while being reviled,He did not revile in return;while suffering,He utterednothreats,but kept entrusting[Himself] to Him who judgesrighteously;
Nowthe passageof Scripturewhichhe was readingwas this:"HE WAS LEDAS A SHEEPTO SLAUGHTER;AND AS A LAMBBEFOREITS SHEARERIS SILENT,SOHE DOES NOT OPENHIS MOUTH.
And He saidto them, "Goand tellthat fox,'Behold,I castout demonsand performcurestodayand tomorrow,and the third[day] I reach My goal.'
"Do not givewhatis holyto dogs,and do not throwyour pearlsbeforeswine,orthey will trample them undertheir feet,and turnand tear you to pieces.
He was oppressedand He was afflicted,Yet He did not openHis mouth;Like a lambthat is ledto slaughter,And like a sheepthat is silentbeforeits shearers,So He did not openHis mouth.
"I have becomemute,I do not openmy mouth,Becauseit is You who have done[it].
And whileHe was being accusedby the chief priestsand elders,He did not answer.
But Jesusmadenofurtheranswer;soPilatewas amazed.
And the chief priestsand the scribeswere standingthere, accusingHim vehemently.
and he enteredinto the Praetoriumagainand saidto Jesus,"Whereare You from?" But Jesusgavehim noanswer.
