So Bathshebawentto KingSolomonto speakto him for Adonijah.And the kingaroseto meether, bowedbefore her, and saton his throne;then he had a thronesetfor the king'smother,and she saton his right.
"But the LORD,whobroughtyou up from the landof Egyptwith greatpowerand with an outstretchedarm,Him you shall fear,and to Him you shall bowyourselves down,and to Him you shall sacrifice.
Now Elihuhad waitedto speakto Jobbecausethey were yearsolderthanhe.
So Elihuthe sonof Barachelthe Buzitespokeout and said,"I am youngin yearsand you are old;ThereforeI was shyand afraidto tellyou whatI think.
A grayheadis a crownof glory;It is foundin the wayof righteousness.
The gloryof youngmenis their strength,And the honorof oldmenis their grayhair.
Listento your fatherwho begotyou, And do not despiseyour motherwhenshe is old.
And the peoplewill be oppressed,Eachoneby another,and eachoneby his neighbor;The youthwill stormagainst the elderAnd the inferioragainst the honorable.
Princeswere hungby their hands;Elderswere not respected.
You shall not cursea deafman,norplacea stumblingblockbeforethe blind,but you shall revereyour God;I am the LORD.
Renderto allwhat is duethem: taxto whomtax[is due]; customto whomcustom;fearto whomfear;honorto whomhonor.
Do not sharply rebukean older man,but [rather] appealto [him] as a father,[to] the younger menas brothers,
Honorall people,lovethe brotherhood,fearGod,honorthe king.
