Now theseare the kingsof the landwhomthe sonsof Israeldefeated,and whose landthey possessedbeyondthe Jordantoward the sunrise,from the valleyof the Arnonas faras MountHermon,and allthe Arabahto the east:
Geberthe sonof Uri,in the landof Gilead,the countryof Sihonkingof the Amoritesand of Ogkingof Bashan;and [he was] the onlydeputywho[was] in the land.
It is like the dewof HermonComingdownupon the mountainsof Zion;For therethe LORDcommandedthe blessing--lifeforever.
And gavetheir landas a heritage,For His lovingkindnessis everlasting,
The northand the south,You have createdthem; Taborand Hermonshoutfor joyat Your name.
Then, like fleeingbirds[or] scatterednestlings,The daughtersof Moabwill be at the fordsof the Arnon.
From therethey journeyedand campedon the othersideof the Arnon,whichis in the wildernessthat comesout of the borderof the Amorites,for the Arnonis the borderof Moab,betweenMoaband the Amorites.
Then Israelsentmessengersto Sihon,kingof the Amorites,saying,
Then Israelstruckhim with the edgeof the sword,and tookpossessionof his landfrom the Arnonto the Jabbok,as faras the sonsof Ammon;for the borderof the sonsof Ammon[was] Jazer.
"For we will not havean inheritancewith them on the othersideof the Jordanand beyond,becauseour inheritancehas fallento us on this sideof the Jordantoward the east."
"We ourselveswill crossoverarmedin the presenceof the LORDinto the landof Canaan,and the possessionof our inheritance[shall remain] with us acrossthe Jordan."
So Mosesgaveto them, to the sonsof Gadand to the sonsof Reubenand to the half-tribeof Joseph'ssonManasseh,the kingdomof Sihon,kingof the Amoritesand the kingdomof Og,the kingof Bashan,the landwith its citieswith [their] territories,the citiesof the surroundingland.
Arise,setout, and passthroughthe valleyof Arnon.Look!I have givenSihonthe Amorite,kingof Heshbon,and his landinto your hand;beginto takepossessionand contendwith him in battle.
"Then Sihonwith allhis peoplecameout to meetus in battleat Jahaz.
"Then we turnedand wentup the roadto Bashan,and Og,kingof Bashan,with allhis peoplecameout to meetus in battleat Edrei.
Now thisis the lawwhichMosessetbeforethe sonsof Israel;
acrossthe Jordan,in the valleyoppositeBeth-peor,in the landof Sihonkingof the Amoriteswholivedat Heshbon,whomMosesand the sonsof Israeldefeatedwhen they cameout from Egypt.
from Aroer,whichis on the edgeof the valleyof Arnon,even as faras MountSion(that is, Hermon),
untilthe LORDgivesyour brothersrest,as [He gives] you, and they alsopossessthe landwhichthe LORDyour Godis givingthem. Then you shall returnto your ownland,and possessthat whichMosesthe servantof the LORDgaveyou beyondthe Jordantoward the sunrise."
from MountHalak,that risestoward Seir,even as faras Baal-gadin the valleyof Lebanonat the footof MountHermon.And he capturedalltheir kingsand struckthem downand putthem to death.
to the Canaaniteon the eastand on the west,and the Amoriteand the Hittiteand the Perizziteand the Jebusitein the hillcountry,and the Hiviteat the footof Hermonin the landof Mizpeh.
With the other half-tribe, the Reubenitesand the Gaditesreceivedtheir inheritancewhichMosesgavethem beyondthe Jordanto the east,justas Mosesthe servantof the LORDgaveto them;
"And nowthe LORDyour Godhas givenrestto your brothers,as He spoketo them; therefore turnnowand goto your tents,to the landof your possession,whichMosesthe servantof the LORDgaveyou beyondthe Jordan.
Then they wentthrough the wildernessand aroundthe landof Edomand the landof Moab,and cameto the eastsideof the landof Moab,and they campedbeyondthe Arnon;but they did not enterthe territoryof Moab,for the Arnon[was] the borderof Moab.
