Nowthe Passoverof the Jewswas near,and manywentup to Jerusalemout of the countrybeforethe Passoverto purifythemselves.
So Jacobsaidto his householdand to allwhowere with him, "Putawaythe foreigngodswhichare amongyou, and purifyyourselves and changeyour garments;
Whenthe daysof feastinghad completedtheir cycle,Jobwould sendand consecratethem, risingup earlyin the morningand offeringburntofferings[according to] the numberof them all;for Jobsaid,"Perhapsmy sonshave sinnedand cursedGodin their hearts."ThusJobdidcontinually.
I shall washmy handsin innocence,And I will goaboutYour altar,O LORD,
The LORDalso saidto Moses,"Goto the peopleand consecratethem todayand tomorrow,and let them washtheir garments;
"Speakto the sonsof Israel,saying,'Ifanyoneof you orof your generationsbecomesuncleanbecause of a [dead] person,oris on a distantjourney,he may, however, observethe Passoverto the LORD.
But there were [some] menwhowere uncleanbecause of [the] deadperson,so that they couldnot observePassoveron that day;so they camebeforeMosesand Aaronon that day.
WhenJesushad finishedallthesewords,He saidto His disciples,
"You knowthat aftertwodaysthe Passoveris coming,and the Sonof Manis [to be] handedover for crucifixion."
Nowthe Passoverand UnleavenedBread were twodaysaway;and the chief priestsand the scribeswere seekinghowto seizeHim by stealthand kill[Him];
Nowthe Feastof UnleavenedBread, which is calledthe Passover,was approaching.
Jesus,therefore,sixdaysbeforethe Passover,cameto BethanywhereLazaruswas, whomJesushad raisedfrom the dead.
Nowbeforethe Feastof the Passover,Jesusknowingthat His hourhad comethat He would departout of thisworldto the Father,having lovedHis ownwhowere in the world,He lovedthem to the end.
Thenthey ledJesusfrom Caiaphasinto the Praetorium,and it was early;and they themselvesdid not enterinto the Praetoriumsothat they would not be defiled,but might eatthe Passover.
The Passoverof the Jewswas near,and Jesuswentup to Jerusalem.
Nowthere were sixstonewaterpotssettherefor the Jewishcustom of purification,containingtwentyorthirtygallonseach.
Afterthese thingsthere was a feastof the Jews,and Jesuswentup to Jerusalem.
Nowthe Passover,the feastof the Jews,was near.
takethem and purifyyourself alongwith them, and pay their expensessothat they may shavetheir heads;and allwill knowthat there is nothingto the things whichthey have been toldaboutyou, but that you yourselfalsowalk orderly,keepingthe Law.
ThenPaultookthe men,and the nextday,purifyinghimself alongwith them, wentinto the templegiving noticeof the completionof the daysof purification,untilthe sacrificewas offeredfor eachoneof them.
in whichthey foundme [occupied] in the temple,having been purified,without[any] crowdoruproar.But [there were] someJewsfrom Asia--
But a manmust examinehimself,and in sodoing he is to eatof the breadand drinkof the cup.
Drawnearto Godand He will draw nearto you. Cleanseyour hands,you sinners;and purifyyour hearts,you double-minded.
He said,"In peace;I have cometo sacrificeto the LORD.Consecrateyourselves and comewith me to the sacrifice."He also consecratedJesseand his sonsand invitedthem to the sacrifice.
