I am pure,withouttransgression;I am innocentand there is noguiltin me.
IfI sin,then You would takenoteof me, And would not acquitme of my guilt.
Accordingto Your knowledgeI am indeednot guilty,Yet thereis nodeliverancefrom Your hand.
"For you have said,'My teachingis pure,And I aminnocentin your eyes.'
"Beholdnow,I have preparedmy case;I knowthat I will be vindicated.
"Howmanyare my iniquitiesand sins?Makeknownto me my rebellionand my sin.
"My transgressionis sealedup in a bag,And You wrapup my iniquity.
Althoughthere is noviolencein my hands,And my prayeris pure.
"The uprightwill be appalledat this,And the innocentwill stirup himself againstthe godless.
"Nevertheless the righteouswill holdto his way,And he who has cleanhandswill growstrongerand stronger.
"But He knowsthe wayI take;[When] He has triedme, I shall comeforthas gold.
"I puton righteousness,and it clothedme; My justicewas like a robeand a turban.
Then thesethreemenceasedansweringJob,becausehe was righteousin his own eyes.
"Surelyyou have spokenin my hearing,And I have heardthe soundof [your] words:
"For Jobhas said,I am righteous,But Godhas takenawaymy right;
Should I lieconcerningmy right?My woundis incurable,[though I am] withouttransgression.'
"Do you thinkthisis according to justice?Do you say,'My righteousnessis morethanGod's'?
"Whythen do You not pardonmy transgressionAnd takeawaymy iniquity?For nowI will liedownin the dust;And You will seekme, but I will not be."
"For He bruisesme with a tempestAnd multipliesmy woundswithoutcause.
"I am guiltless;I do not takenoticeof myself;I despisemy life.
"Ifthe scourgekillssuddenly,He mocksthe despairof the innocent.
I am afraidof allmy pains,I knowthat You will not acquitme.
Yet you said,'I am innocent;SurelyHis angeris turnedawayfrom me.' Behold,I will enterinto judgmentwith you Becauseyou say,'I have not sinned.'
