"I have madea covenantwith my eyes;Howthen could I gazeat a virgin?
The mouthof an adulteressis a deeppit;He who is cursedof the LORDwill fallinto it.
Do not desireher beautyin your heart,Norlet her captureyou with her eyelids.
Can a mantakefirein his bosomAnd his clothesnot be burned?
With her manypersuasionsshe enticeshim; With her flatteringlipsshe seduceshim.
And I discoveredmorebitterthandeaththe womanwhoseheartis snaresand nets,whose handsare chains.Onewhois pleasingto Godwill escapefrom her, but the sinnerwill be capturedby her.
"They were well-fedlustyhorses,Eachoneneighingafterhis neighbor'swife.
They are alladulterers,Likean ovenheatedby the bakerWho ceasesto stirup [the fire] From the kneadingof the doughuntilit is leavened.
If [there is] a manwhocommitsadulterywith another man'swife,one whocommitsadulterywith his friend'swife,the adultererand the adulteressshall surelybe putto death.
You shall not covetyour neighbor'swife,and you shall not desireyour neighbor'shouse,his fieldor his maleservantor his femaleservant,his oxor his donkeyor anythingthat belongs to your neighbor.'
The lordsof the Philistinescameup to her and saidto her, "Enticehim, and seewherehis greatstrength[lies] and howwe may overpowerhim that we may bindhim to afflicthim. Then we will eachgiveyou elevenhundred[pieces] of silver."
