"They bendtheir tongue[like] their bow;Liesand not truthprevailin the land;For they proceedfrom evilto evil,And they do not knowMe," declaresthe LORD.
So she lefthis garmentbesideher untilhis mastercamehome.
The thoughtsof the righteousare just,[But] the counselsof the wickedare deceitful.
"An oxknowsits owner,And a donkeyits master'smanger,[But] Israeldoes not know,My peopledo not understand."
And the peoplewill be oppressed,Eachoneby another,and eachoneby his neighbor;The youthwill stormagainst the elderAnd the inferioragainst the honorable.
Then I said,"Woeis me, for I am ruined!BecauseI am a manof uncleanlips,And I liveamonga peopleof uncleanlips;For my eyeshave seenthe King,the LORDof hosts."
For wickednessburnslike a fire;It consumesbriarsand thorns;It even setsthe thicketsof the forestaflameAnd they rollupwardin a columnof smoke.
"For evenyour brothersand the householdof your father,Eventhey have dealttreacherouslywith you, Eventhey have criedaloudafteryou. Do not believethem, althoughthey may saynicethingsto you."
"He pledthe causeof the afflictedand needy;Thenit was well.Is not that what it means to knowMe?" Declaresthe LORD.
"They will not teachagain,eachmanhis neighborand eachmanhis brother,saying,'Knowthe LORD,'for they will allknowMe, from the leastof them to the greatestof them," declaresthe LORD,"for I will forgivetheir iniquity,and their sinI will remembernomore."
"For My peopleare foolish,They knowMe not; They are stupidchildrenAnd havenounderstanding.They are shrewdto doevil,But to dogoodthey do not know."
Then I said,"They are onlythe poor,They are foolish;For they do not knowthe wayof the LORD[Or] the ordinanceof their God.
"I will goto the greatAnd will speakto them, For they knowthe wayof the LORD[And] the ordinanceof their God."But they too, with oneaccord,have brokenthe yoke[And] burstthe bonds.
Allof them are stubbornlyrebellious,Goingabout as a talebearer.[They are] bronzeand iron;They, allof them, are corrupt.
"Yet they did not listento Me or inclinetheir ear,but stiffenedtheir neck;they did moreevilthantheir fathers.
"Everyonedeceiveshis neighborAnd does not speakthe truth,They have taughttheir tongueto speaklies;They wearythemselves committinginiquity.
"Their tongueis a deadlyarrow;It speaksdeceit;With his mouthone speakspeaceto his neighbor,But inwardlyhe setsan ambushfor him.
And He saidto me, "Yetyou will seestillgreaterabominationswhichthey are committing."
"As for bothkings,their heartswill be [intent] on evil,and they will speaklies[to each other] at the sametable;but it will not succeed,for the endis still[to come] at the appointedtime.
You shall not steal,nordealfalsely,norlieto oneanother.
"For whoeveris ashamedof Me and My wordsin thisadulterousand sinfulgeneration,the Sonof Manwill alsobe ashamedof him whenHe comesin the gloryof His Fatherwith the holyangels."
"Thisis eternallife,that they may knowYou, the onlytrue God,and JesusChristwhomYou have sent.
The Jewsalsojoined in the attack,assertingthat these thingswere so.
For I am not ashamedof the gospel,for it is the powerof Godfor salvationto everyonewho believes,to the Jewfirstand alsoto the Greek.
And justas they did not see fitto acknowledgeGodany longer, Godgave them overto a depravedmind,to dothosethings which are not proper,
"THEIR THROATIS AN OPENGRAVE,WITH THEIR TONGUESTHEY KEEP DECEIVING,""THE POISONOF ASPSIS UNDERTHEIR LIPS";
Become sober-mindedas you ought,and stopsinning;for somehaveno knowledgeof God.I speak[this] to your shame.
in no wayalarmedby [your] opponents--whichis a signof destructionfor them, but of salvationfor you, and that [too], from God.
But evilmenand impostorswill proceed[from bad] to worse,deceivingand being deceived.
Beloved,while I was makingeveryeffortto writeyou aboutour commonsalvation,I feltthe necessityto writeto you appealingthat you contend earnestlyfor the faithwhich was once for allhanded downto the saints.
"And they overcamehim becauseof the bloodof the Lamband becauseof the wordof their testimony,and they did not lovetheir lifeeven whenfaced with death.
However she weptbeforehim sevendayswhiletheir feastlasted.And on the seventhdayhe toldher becauseshe pressedhim so hard.She then toldthe riddleto the sonsof her people.
Allthat generationalsowere gatheredto their fathers;and there aroseanothergenerationafterthem whodid not knowthe LORD,noryetthe workwhichHe had donefor Israel.
Now the sonsof Eliwere worthlessmen;they did not knowthe LORD
