"The priestsdid not say,'Whereis the LORD?'And those who handlethe lawdid not knowMe; The rulersalso transgressedagainst Me, And the prophetsprophesiedby BaalAnd walkedafterthings that did not profit.
"The windwill sweepawayallyour shepherds,And your loverswill gointo captivity;Thenyou will surelybe ashamedand humiliatedBecauseof allyour wickedness.
Thereforethussaysthe LORDGodof Israelconcerningthe shepherdswho are tendingMy people:"You have scatteredMy flockand driventhem away, and have not attendedto them; behold,I am about to attendto you for the evilof your deeds,"declaresthe LORD.

Thussaysthe LordGOD,"Woeto the foolishprophetswhoare followingtheir own spiritand have seennothing.

"Becauseyou pushwith sideand with shoulder, and thrustat allthe weakwith your hornsuntilyou have scatteredthem abroad,
"As for you, My sheep, the sheepof My pasture, you are men,and I am your God,"declaresthe LordGOD.
"Like the flockfor sacrifices, like the flockat Jerusalemduring her appointedfeasts, sowill the wastecitiesbe filledwith flocksof men. Then they will knowthat I am the LORD."'"
"My angeris kindledagainstthe shepherds,And I will punishthe malegoats; For the LORDof hostshas visitedHis flock, the houseof Judah,And will makethem like His majestichorsein battle.
"Let them alone;they are blindguidesof the blind. And ifa blind manguidesa blind man, bothwill fallinto a pit."
Seeingthe people,He felt compassionfor them, becausethey were distressedand dispiritedlikesheepwithouta shepherd.
"The thiefcomesonlyto stealand killand destroy;I camethat they may havelife, and have[it] abundantly.
"He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, whois not the ownerof the sheep, seesthe wolfcoming, and leavesthe sheepand flees, and the wolfsnatchesthem and scatters[them].
"AllwhocamebeforeMe are thievesand robbers, but the sheepdid not hearthem.
