Thisis the bookof the generationsof Adam.In the daywhen Godcreatedman,He madehim in the likenessof God.
"Whoever shedsman'sblood,By manhis bloodshall be shed,For in the imageof GodHe mademan.
When KingDavidcameto Bahurim,behold,there cameout from therea manof the familyof the houseof Saulwhose namewas Shimei,the sonof Gera;he cameout cursingcontinually as he came.
But Abishaithe sonof Zeruiahsaid,"Should not Shimeibe putto deathfor this,becausehe cursedthe LORD'Sanointed?"
So Davidblessedthe LORDin the sightof allthe assembly;and Davidsaid,"Blessedare You, O LORDGodof Israelour father,foreverand ever.
Then Davidsaidto allthe assembly,"Nowblessthe LORDyour God."And allthe assemblyblessedthe LORD,the Godof their fathers,and bowedlowand didhomageto the LORDand to the king.
His mouthis fullof cursesand deceitand oppression;Underhis tongueis mischiefand wickedness.
My heartis steadfast,O God;I will sing,I will singpraises,evenwith my soul.
I will extolYou, my God,O King,And I will blessYour nameforeverand ever.
My mouthwill speakthe praiseof the LORD,And allfleshwill blessHis holynameforeverand ever.
Thereforemy heartis gladand my gloryrejoices;My fleshalsowill dwellsecurely.
That [my] soulmay singpraiseto You and not be silent.O LORDmy God,I will givethanksto You forever.
I will blessthe LORDat alltimes;His praiseshall continuallybe in my mouth.
And my tongueshall declareYour righteousness[And] Your praisealldaylong.
Deliverme from bloodguiltiness,O God,the Godof my salvation;[Then] my tonguewill joyfullysingof Your righteousness.
Awake,my glory!Awake,harpand lyre!I will awakenthe dawn.
[On account of] the sinof their mouth[and] the wordsof their lips,Let them even be caughtin their pride,And on accountof cursesand lieswhich they utter.
They have counseledonlyto thrusthim downfrom his highposition;They delightin falsehood;They blesswith their mouth,But inwardlythey curse.Selah.
SoI will blessYou as long as I live;I will liftup my handsin Your name.
My tonguealsowill utterYour righteousnessalldaylong; For they are ashamed,for they are humiliatedwho seekmy hurt.
For you alsohave realizedthat you likewisehave manytimescursedothers.
Then the Lordsaid,"Becausethispeopledrawnearwith their wordsAnd honorMe with their lipservice,But they removetheir heartsfarfrom Me, And their reverencefor Me consistsof traditionlearned[by rote],
Thenhe beganto curseand swear,"I do not knowthe man!"And immediatelya roostercrowed.
"But I sayto you, loveyour enemiesand prayfor thosewho persecuteyou,
THEREFOREMY HEARTWAS GLADAND MY TONGUEEXULTED;MOREOVERMY FLESHALSOWILL LIVEIN HOPE;
"WHOSEMOUTHIS FULLOF CURSINGAND BITTERNESS";
For a manoughtnot to have his headcovered,since he is the imageand gloryof God;but the womanis the gloryof man.
Blessed[be] the Godand Fatherof our LordJesusChrist,who has blessedus with everyspiritualblessingin the heavenly[places] in Christ,
Pureand undefiledreligionin the sightof [our] Godand Fatheris this:to visitorphansand widowsin their distress,[and] to keeponeselfunstainedby the world.
from the samemouthcome[both] blessingand cursing.My brethren,these thingsoughtnot to be this way.
Blessedbe the Godand Fatherof our LordJesusChrist,who accordingto His greatmercyhas caused us to be born againto a livinghopethroughthe resurrectionof JesusChristfrom the dead,
They wentout into the fieldand gathered[the grapes of] their vineyardsand trod[them], and helda festival;and they wentinto the houseof their god,and ateand drankand cursedAbimelech.
